Nye Parry: Current Projects
Nye is currently collaborating with composer Matthew King on the Kings Wood Symphony. The piece will exist in two versions, one for performance in Kings Wood in Kent (Stour Valley Arts Trust) on Midsummers Day 2007 and one for performance a few days later at the Wigmore Hall in London.
Nye's contribution will be a surround sound installation taking aspects of the forest's soundscape and linking it to Matthew's composition for numerous live hornplayers spread around the forest.
A new composition for Bedlam Dance Company is also planned for early 2007.
Work is underway for a work for Violin and ambisonics, using sensing and diffusion software developed at the Lansdown Centre for Electronic Arts at Middlesex University.
Earpieces, an exhibition of Sonic Art from artists associated with the MA in Sonic Arts at Middlesex will take place at the Albany in Deptford from the 24th November to the 4th December 2006. as part of the Deptford X festival.
