A new version of Significant Birds has just opened at the National Museum of Science and Media in Bradford UK. The piece has been reworked as part of their series of ‘micro-commissions’ for their extensive Sound Season and will run until the end of October. The original is still on show in Cagliari, Sardinia.
Colourscape at Clapham Common
The Colourscape Festival is back on Clapham Common this year and I am pleased to say they will feature my Seasons from 1998 alongside its traditional Colourscape pairing, Gamelan Kembang Kirang playing traditional Balinese Angklung and processional Baleganjur. The gig is 12.30 – 4.30 on the 12th September and the festival runs from Sat 11th for 2 weeks.
Significant Birds and Point of Perception in Cagliari
After many COVID occasioned postponements, The Science Galley’s touring exhibition ILLUSION will open at the Manifattura Tabacchi di Cagliari, Italy on the 28th May. The show features my installation
Significant Birds as well as Madi Boyd’s The Point of Perception for which I made the soundtrack. Visit the website for more details.
Life in a Beat
One little lockdown project which was fun to do was this little score for Madi Boyd, Jonathan Munroe and Gareth Goodison’s film Life in a Beat, which features dancing meerkats filmed (along with other funky animals) at ZSL. It was a nice chance to play around in a more commercial style.
New Website
I am happy to finally present a complete overhaul of my website! I must confess it was long overdue and came about through a rather more spectacular route than I’d hoped, when I completely lost the previous site while trying to update it. I hope to keep the project pages up to date with any bigger projects and will use the blog for occasional updates on my activities and events.
